We celebrated
National Cancer Survivors Day
Sure never thought this day, would hold such great significance in our lives, as it does today…
Today, is #NationalCancerSurviorsDay
Today, is a day we celebrate all who are still living on this Earth, after a cancer diagnosis
Today, is a day we honor all cancer survivors – young or old
Today, we reflect on all they have accomplished
Today, we remember their heroic strength & resilience
Today, we remember what this life is really about, the true importance of our existence on this Earth
Today, we honor all who are currently free of this  devastating disease – thriving here on Earth
Today, we honor those heroically showing their strength each and every day, as they face this  life-threatening disease
& Today, we honor those who have passed on to our next phase of life, undoubtedly surviving – pure & free
I can not sit here, and try to find the words to express the devastation of a cancer diagnosis; especially to your child.
In this life, we don’t always understand the reason “why?”. So naturally, we ask it over & over again. As humans knowing the answer to that question, is something we desperately need – always! We search long and hard, until we find it. However, you will find there are some situations in life, when the answer is unable to be found.
That’s when all the unsettling emotions start to take over. I know this because I’ve been there and I will tell you this, the moment I stopped asking “why?” and stopped searching for the answer, beautiful things started to happen.
Today, I know the answer to my “why?” and I’m reminded of it every single day.
The tears that roll down my face as I write this, are not out of sadness or anger, but of joy.
For today I am so thankful for all the blessings God has given me! Oddly enough, I’m slightly grateful for this journey he sent us on.
Through it, I’ve discovered the true definition of a “Hero”.
I’ve witnessed strength I did not know was humanly possible.
I’ve learned exceptional life lessons – you know, the ones that can not be taught.
I’ve developed friendships & unbreakable bonds with people who were strangers, just months ago.
I’ve found my passion and my voice!
& damn it, you better believe I’m going to use it!
Today, I honor my daughter, my hero – Brenley J
My daughter, my sunshine – Brysen Ann
All childhood cancer heroes & the ones who stand directly beside them every inch of the way!
You are all Simply
